About the Journal
About the Journal
Aging and Virology is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the intersection of aging biology and virology. The journal explores how viral infections influence the aging process, immune senescence, age-related diseases, and longevity — and, conversely, how aging impacts host-virus interactions.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, perspectives, and case studies that investigate:
-
The role of latent or chronic viral infections in aging
-
Virome changes over the lifespan
-
Viral reactivation and immune system decline
-
Virus-induced inflammation and cellular senescence
-
Viral vectors in gene therapy and anti-aging interventions
-
Host-pathogen epigenetics in aging tissues
By fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue between virology, gerontology, immunology, and molecular biology, Aging and Virology aims to advance understanding of viral mechanisms in age-related health and disease.
The journal publishes in English and adheres to a rigorous peer-review process. All articles are published under an open-access model to ensure global reach and impact.
